Trinetra privacy policy

What the Trinetra app collects, why, who sees it, and how to have it deleted.

This covers the app. For the caygnus.com website, see the studio privacy policy.

What we collect

We collect what the features you use need.

  • Account details. The name, email address, phone number and password you sign up with.
  • Location. Your phone’s location while you use the app. If you join a family group, the app shares your live location with the group, and it can keep updating it while the app runs in the background.
  • Ask Netra questions and trip plans. The questions you type to Netra, and the destination, dates, group size and interests you give the trip planner.
  • Voice, camera and text. If you use the voice, camera or translation features, the speech or text that they read, so that the app can act on it and translate it.
  • Lost-person reports. If you file a report, the details you enter. These can include a name, a photo and an identity number.
  • Notifications and ads. A device token, so that we can send you notifications, and the device identifiers that Google AdMob uses to show ads.

Why we collect it

  • To run the features you choose: your account, family groups, the trip planner, Ask Netra and notifications.
  • To keep your account working and secure.
  • To show ads in the app.

Who we share it with

  • People in your family group. Your live location, while you share it.
  • Google. Firebase hosts your account and its data, and sends notifications. Gemini writes the answers and the trip plans from what you type. Google Maps and its route services receive the coordinates that a map or a route needs. Google Translate receives text that you ask the app to translate. AdMob shows the ads.
  • Map and route providers. OpenRouteService, OpenStreetMap services and Esri map tiles receive the coordinates that a route or a map view needs.
  • Our servers. Our backend on Render receives coordinates for bus journeys and station lookups.
  • Authorities, only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Account details and trip plans: until you delete your account.
  • Live location: the last location you shared stays with your family group until you stop sharing or delete your account.
  • Ask Netra questions: Google’s Gemini service handles them under Google’s own terms.
  • Backups: deleted data leaves our backups within 30 days.
