## Privacy

Short, because we collect little. Every outside service is named.

### What we collect

This site has no advertising trackers. If we launch a newsletter, subscribing will mean giving us your email address, and this policy will say so before it happens.

- When you write to us through the contact form, we collect your name, your email address and your message. You can also tell us how you heard about us and, for a project, its type, stage, timeline and how ready you are to invest. For a general question, you can choose a topic.
- If you ask to hear when Urban Hood opens, we collect your name, email address and neighbourhood, and use them only to tell you when the beta opens.
- If you ask us to delete your account in one of our apps, the request form collects the app, the email address or phone number on the account, and any reason you give. We use them only to check the request and delete that account.
- PostHog records how you use the site. See 03.

### How we use it

If we launch a newsletter, subscriber addresses will be used solely to send it, and every issue will include an unsubscribe link.

Contact messages are delivered to our inbox by Resend, our email provider, and used only to reply to you. Resend also delivers the Urban Hood signup and the account deletion request. After a contact message, it sends you one email to say that we received it. By its own documentation, Resend stores message content and delivery logs in the United States and keeps them for 30 days.

While analytics is on, a sent contact message also adds your name, your email address and the options you chose in the form to your PostHog profile. This links your earlier visits from that browser to your name.

### Analytics and cookies

We use PostHog to see how people use this site, so we can improve it. What happens first depends on where you are:

- **In the European Union and the United Kingdom**, we ask first. PostHog runs only after you choose Accept, and nothing is stored until then. Decline is as easy as Accept.
- **Everywhere else**, PostHog cookies and session recordings are on by default. You can turn them off at any time in Cookie settings.

To decide whether to ask, the site reads your browser’s time zone. That check runs in your browser. If the time zone is in the European Union or the United Kingdom, or names no single country, such as UTC, we ask.

PostHog records the pages you view and when you leave them, your clicks, heatmaps of where people click and how far they scroll, session recordings of the page with everything you type masked, page speed and errors on the page. It estimates a rough location from your IP address. It respects your browser’s Do Not Track setting.

Your browser sends this data to PostHog directly, and PostHog stores it in the United States. PostHog keeps an anonymous ID in a first-party cookie named ph\_ followed by our project key and \_posthog, and in your browser’s local storage, so it can tell repeat visits apart. By PostHog’s documentation, the cookie lasts up to one year. If you decline, or turn analytics off later, PostHog stops and removes that cookie and storage.

The site also stores your cookie choice in your browser’s local storage, under the name caygnus-consent, so it does not ask again.

### Booking a call

To book a call, send us a message through the [contact form](https://caygnus.com/contact). We reply by email to agree a time. We collect only what the form asks for, listed in 01.

### Services we use

Every outside service that handles your data on this site:

PostHog

Analytics with cookies and session recordings. Asked first in the European Union and the United Kingdom, on by default everywhere else. Data is stored in the United States.

Resend

Delivers the contact form, the Urban Hood signup and account deletion requests to our inbox, and sends the confirmation after a contact message. Data is stored in the United States for 30 days.

Web host

Serves this site. It keeps standard server request logs, which include IP addresses, under its own retention settings.

### Your choices

Email [hello@caygnus.com](mailto:hello@caygnus.com) to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We honor all three without ceremony.

You can change your cookie choice at any time. Cookie settings in the footer, or Change cookie choice in 03, opens the prompt again. Its Settings panel has one Analytics switch and Save.

India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 gives you rights to access, correct and delete your data and to withdraw consent. So does the GDPR, for visitors in the European Union and the United Kingdom.

Caygnus Tech Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, India, runs this site. The founder is our grievance officer, at [hello@caygnus.com](mailto:hello@caygnus.com).
